The Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois Awards program recognizes individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who exemplify the best attributes of young people from across Illinois. Recipients come from many backgrounds, but each has made an impact on their fellow man and communities. 

​

The Illinois Jaycees is proud to announce The Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois for 2020:

  • Rob Dalhaus III, 30, St. Joseph, IL for Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership. Dalhaus is Executive Director of C-U at Home, a non-profit organization that provides services and opportunities for the homeless community in Champaign Urbana.

  • Justin Dunning, 31, New Baden, IL for Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership. Dunning is Region J Director for Special Olympics, serves on the Village of New Baden Park Board and started Little Warriors, a basketball league for children aged pre-k through grade 7.

  • Deric Kimler, 30, Peoria Heights, IL for Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership. Kimler is Executive Director at Central Illinois Friends, a public health organization offering free services such as comprehensive sexual education, linking individuals to the proper care, and providing HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing in Central Illinois.

  • Stacy A. Kolaz, 30, Springfield, IL for Cultural achievement. Kolaz is a highly regarded artist and volunteer for several Springfield theater groups. She has volunteered over 17,000 hours in seventy productions.

  • Tiffany M. E. Mathis, 37, Springfield, IL for Humanitarian and/or Volunteer Leadership. Mathis is CEO & Executive Director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois. In addition, she serves as a board member for Springfield Public School District 186, president of the Rotary Club of Midtown Springfield and is on the board of trustees for the Hoogland Center for the Arts.

  • Julie Locke Moore, 36, Washington, IL for Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights. Moore is founder and director of the DAX Foundation that helps the families and children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and other families in need. She also spearheaded efforts to bring a Ronald McDonald House to Peoria.

  • Susan Miceli-Green, 37, Georgetown, IL for Humanitarian and/or Volunteer Leadership. Miceli-Green was Development Manager at the Vermilion County War Museum and is a volunteer in several local organizations.

  • Christopher Schiel, 37, Schaumburg, IL for Personal improvement and/or accomplishment. Schiel is the owner of Xtra Mile Running store which has been nominated as one of the Top 50 Best Running Stores in America.

  • Todd Zobrist, 34, Pocahontas, IL for Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership. Zobrist is Captain of Highland Pierron Fire Department and teaches at the Illinois Fire Service Institute through the University of Illinois.

The Outstanding Young People (TOYP) program annually recognizes young people throughout Illinois who excel in their chosen fields, endeavors and show a great commitment to their respective communities. “The Illinois Jaycees is proud to honor young people who dedicate themselves to help their communities in many different ways,” said Pat DeMarco, 89th President of the Illinois Jaycees.
